Chapter 3

Breakthrough

Henry Raley, the pastor of Oakhill Assembly unlocked the door and stepped into the sanctuary early that morning. He felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to wake before dawn to pray and seek God at the church today.  It was not like him to be out of his home office so early, but yet when HE felt such a pull to be in the house of God.  He walked very methodically down the center aisle with his Bible in hand and sat down on the front seat.

"Why am I here Abba today of all days?" on the day his wife Jennie passed two years ago this day.   His mind was still new on that day, as He kneeled down to the altar at the front of the church.  He touched his head to the wooden altar and melted.  Henry felt the presence of the Lord as he started praying in His heavenly language. He knew Jennie was in a much better place now. HE felt an ease come over him as he poured out his supplications, yet He knew He was on a different level.

He worshiped and sang unto the Lord as he stood in His presence.  He knew he was not alone that morning as angels encamped at stations around the sanctuary.  Cathy and Marie stepped into the sanctuary and sit down on the pack pew.  Cathy Jordan and Marie Hurd had been long time members of the church.

Henry was unaware of the two entering the church.  He was caught up in God's presence.  The ladies happened to be going to early morning aerobics class and seen the Pastor's car at the church. Finally, Henry came to reality and realized that they were there and asked invited them up to the front.

"I felt compelled to be here today ladies and I'm not sure why just yet." breaking his quietness. Henry was at loss for words.

"James called me at the crack of dawn Pastor Henry," Marie finally broke the silence. "He seemed to have another breakdown. I called Kathy and we were on our way to his apartment when we saw your car here."

Is he okay Marie? quizzed Henry

I'm not sure what to make of it, but he seems brighter for some reason. You know we had that bad breakup and He backslid after that. Not only leaving Marie, but the church as well.

"I remember that He would not even come to His door when I went to check on him several times." recalled Henry.

"I think we all know why we are here."

Let's pray and lift up James requested Marie.

There was a fervency there as the Presence of the Lord descended.  As they joined hands and worshiped and lifted James up in prayers..."Holy Abba we come before you right now and lift up James to you, pour out your healing grace upon his heart and mind, and let him experience your truth. we dispel all dark forces that are set against him in Jesus' name."
